Where is Spirit Gymnastics located?

Spirit Gymnastics is located in Walker Fieldhouse, on the campus of Hamline University, in St. Paul’s Midway area.  Walker Fieldhouse is on the SE corner of Snelling Avenue and Taylor Avenue and the entrance is located on the east side of the building.  The gym is home to both the Spirit Gymnasts and the Hamline University Women’s Gymnastics Team.

What type of gym does Spirit Gymnastics have?

Spirit Gymnastics uses Hamline University’s gymnastics gym, which is fully equipped for gymnastics events.

Gym Specifications:
  • 6200 square-foot gym.
  • 42′ x 42′ stratum floor with AAI springs.
  • Resi foam pit.
  • 6 high and numerous low beams.
  • 2 full bar sets.
  • 2 single bar stations including channel bar and strap bar.
  • Soft vault runway; AAI table vault.
  • 20cm landing mats.
  • Hot bed trampoline.
  • 30 ft tumble track.
  • Resi foam pit system encompassing beam, floor and bars.

What do I need to bring to class?

Comfortable gymnastics cloths. A leotard is not necessary, but can be worn to class. We have a water fountain, but feel free to bring a bottle of water.

Is there a place for parents to stay during class?

Yes. Walker Field House has a lobby with couches, chairs. There are a few vending machines near the bottom of the downstairs stairwell in Walker Field House as well. Across the street from Walker is the Klas Center which, when open serves a variety of snacks and beverages and has plenty of tables.

What is Spirit Gymnastics Team?

Spirit Gymnastics Team is a competitive group that alongside practicing also goes to a variety of competitions. Generally, students are invited to join Spirit’s competitive team.
